"Witness to Waco" is a two-hour original documentary premiering on Sunday, October 18 at 10 PM ET on MSNBC. After the premiere, please leave us your thoughts and comments here on Newsvine.

"Witness to Waco" provides an in-depth look into the Branch Davidians, a religious cult led by David Koresh in the late 1980s and early 1990s that ultimately met with a tragic, fiery end. This revealing documentary features candid interviews with survivors of the tragedy and rarely-seen footage of David Koresh and other members of the group inside the compound throughout the siege of the property.

For more on this documentary and exclusive web extras, including a look back on the events of Waco through the NBC Archives, please visit docs.msnbc.com.

Koresh reportedly took the kids into town for ice cream each week, the residents of the town provided this in countless statements to the feds, it was reported that you could set your weekday calendar with him and the kids arriving.

They could have arrested him with no collateral damage if they wanted to, as we now know, the feds decided to pursue other strategies.

Pathetic act and the ones behind the operation should have gotten what they truly deserved.

Extremist Moderate

Its fascinating how mercurial and inept the nation's law enforcement agencies can be, with respect to whom they choose to enforce the law against, and how they set about doing so. The Branch Davidians were only suspected of child abuse against a number of children that is dwarfed by those exploited by other religious groups.

Does this mean that so long as the numbers involved in the crime are enormous, one needn't fear accountability in this country? It certainly does when the crime involves money, where a $100 mugging nets the perpetrator years in prison, yet billions of dollars in financial fraud merits only public chastisement by those in power...
